July 16, 2014 - Team - Comments(0) Top Highlight

In the past few days there have been Huge Changes to the CIJHL that have created amazing new opportunities for our players. After month of negotiations, we are officially a sanctioned Junior Hockey League and ar proud to be part of the American Athletic Union (AAU) and the United Hockey Union (UHU). This means that our six team league is now part of a much larger Association - 4 other Leagues including the WSHL, NSHL, MWJHL and the CIHL with more than 60 Junior Teams in total.

We will also play a number of Non-Conference Regular Season League Games and contend for a National AAU Title against these other leagues. This amazing opportunity will also expand our Showcase exposure as we must send an All-star Team to the UHU Showcase Event and are allowed to send Showcase teams to up to 5 other UHU College & JR Showcases North America wide.

2014 CIJHL Entry Draft

We are also holding our first CIJHL Entry Draft on Tuesday, August 5th 2014. Each Team will be allowed to Draft and Card 10 Players as well as 5 Future AP Players during the two phases of our draft.

We still have roster spots left available and we hope to not only fill out our teams at the Entry Draft but we will add some future prospects and AP players for this season and beyond! If you are interested in the CIJHL, being an AP Player and want to OPT-IN to our Draft, please let us know.

Lastly, there are a few limited scholarships still available, but we expect them to be awarded post Draft, so inquire as soon as possible if you are interested in applying.

If you would like more information on the Walnut Grove Wolverines or the CIJHL, please email me anytime. Your personal commitment is only matched by our commitment to making you a better hockey player and leader.

We’ve Applied to join the AAU and UHU to become a SANCTIONED Junior Hockey League!

End of the Outlaw League

By joining the AAU, the CIJHL will be sanctioned by one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer, sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports programs.

The junior hockey branch of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), the United Hockey Union (UHU) has experienced tremendous growth in the past two years. With the addition of the Ontario based CIHL, the UHU has an all-time high of 60 teams competing across four leagues, 22 states and one Canadian province. When accepted the CIJHL will help solidify the West Coast contingent of the ever growing organization.

Additional Benefits of UHU/AAU membership includes:

North American Wide Player Exposure and Marketing

We will contend for a National Title against the WSHL, NSHL, MWJHL and the CIHL, a true North American Championship Tournament. The CIJHL will send teams to showcases across North America with our UHU member leagues/teams. There are 5 Major College Showcase events already planned for 2014- 15 open to UHU Member leagues!

In addition, we will have the opportunity to expand our regular season schedule to include many Out of Conference Games versus WSHL, NSHL, MWJHL and the CIHL Teams.

Elite Insurance

Our players will have World Class Insurance Coverage!

Increased Insurance Coverage for our players, coaches, Teams and League. Not only will we have our current 5 Million dollar Liability Insurance Policy but we will add additional layers of coverage for our players including Dental, thru the AAU package.

We are still signing prospects!

Töreboda HF vs HC Dalen
Result (L), SV (34) - Oct 9, 2013
This was my debut in Swedish Div. 2 hockey. About 17 minutes into the game I had my knee cut pretty badly by an opposing player's skate. I was told to stay in the game, so I played out the remaining 43 minutes and was told I did very well against the top team in the league (they were promoted to Div. 1).
